Farewell Memories...

Mom & Dad did an amazing job on their farewell talks. Mom told me to take care of her scriptures while she was up on the stand so without her knowing it we passed her scriptures down one by one down the rolls of grandchildren/children (of those sitting close to us, we would have done dad's also but he kept his w/him) and we all wrote 'love-notes' & marking favorite scriptures. We were all giggly w/excitement for the day to come when she's in the philippines and a 'love-note' falls out!!
Yesterday before we left to take them to the airport, we were going through all the 'did you 4gets' and I asked where her scriptures were. She sadly told me because of the weight issue at the airports she's leaving hers behind & she'll just use dad's or buy some new ones over there.
I guess she'll have to wait another 23mths to read our notes. :0(
They had a great turn out at their farewell luncheon, they have so many friends!! They were especially excited to see family and temple friends come from afar. Thanks to all who attended it made their day full of happy memories!!
